  • True Love for God Selflessness Over Selfishness

True love for God means dedicating every part of ourselves to Him—our hearts, minds, actions, and lives. It’s about putting Him first in everything and letting His love shape who we are. When we truly love God, we align our lives with His purpose, living selflessly and focusing on His glory rather than our own desires.

The opposite of loving God is selfishness—when we prioritize ourselves over His will, seeking our comfort, success, or recognition instead of surrendering fully to Him. Matthew 22:37 reminds us of the greatest commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Loving God requires an all-in dedication.

Philippians 2:3-4 encourages us to live selflessly: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” This kind of selflessness reflects God’s love in us and helps us grow in our relationship with Him.

Let this be a reminder to examine our hearts. Are we truly dedicating all of ourselves to God, or are we holding back? True love for God calls us to lay down our selfish ways and fully trust Him to lead and guide us. Dedicating ourselves to Him is the greatest act of love we can offer. ✝️💙
